A native Texan and respected community leader who understands the value of service and hard work, Skeeter credits his family for providing a solid foundation of leadership, service, and Christian faith. Originally from San Antonio, Skeeter learned the value of hard work at a young age, farming and ranching alongside his Dad, Dr. Earl T. Hubert, and working as a kennel tech at his dad's veterinary clinic.
As a John Marshall High School student, Skeeter was elected by his peers to FFA leadership, including chapter Vice President and two years as President. Skeeter credits his time in FFA for creating his proficiency in using Parliamentary Procedure to facilitate every Conroe ISD School Board meeting. Along with academics, work, and FFA service, Skeeter earned the elite title of Texas All-State track athlete during high school, ranking 2nd in the state for Pole Vault and becoming a decathlete in college. He is still the current record holder for pole vaulting at several San Antonio track and field venues.
In 1993, Skeeter moved to Huntsville to attend Sam Houston State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a minor in Business. One month after graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie, and they soon moved to Montgomery County. At the age of 31, Skeeter launched his own investment and insurance practice in Montgomery County which he owned until 2014 when he joined Woodforest Financial services as a Senior Vice President. Today, Skeeter serves as Principal Insurance Agent of Woodforest Insurance Partners.
Along with his incredible work ethic, Skeeter has a heart for community service and has served thousands of hours in an extensive amount of leadership and service roles in The Woodlands area, preparing him with unique knowledge to understand local issues and connecting him with people aligned to get things done for the good of all citizens. As the District 15 Texas State Representative, Skeeter will bring with him experience, a positive attitude, and the skillset of running a business, understanding the value of community non-profits, leading a team, and managing budgets with millions of dollars in assets.
